Two killed from India fire along Kashmir border, Pakistan says

Pakistan has closed three corridor in its airspace to India

Considered previously to be ‘comparatively’ safe, the remote Gurez sub-valley in the upper belt of the Neelum district of Pakistan , was heavily shelled by Indian troops from across the Line of Control (LoC) on Tuesday, killing two, including a child,  and four others wounded, local officials said.

Gurez sub-valley in the upper belt of the Neelum district of Pakistan administered Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) was heavily shelled by Indian troops from across the Line of Control (LoC).

According to a statement from Inter Services Public Relations, Indian troops had “resorted to unprovoked firing” in the Nekrun Sector along the LoC, “deliberately targeting” civilians.

“Three citizens got injured while three houses got burnt,” the statement confirmed.

Meanwhile, Pakistan has closed three corridor in its airspace to India and blocking Indian land trade to  Afghanistan  via Pakistan, according to the Pakistani minister for science and technology.

“PM is considering a complete closure of Air Space to India, a complete ban on use of Pakistan Land routes for Indian trade to Afghanistan was also suggested in cabinet meeting, legal formalities for these decisions are under consideration … #Modi has started we’ll finish!,” Fawad Chaudhry wrote on Twitter.

The tweet gave no more details on why Pakistan would be considering the moves against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government now.

Pakistan had reopened its airspace in mid-July after almost five months after closing it in the wake of a military standoff with India.
