Condolence reference and fundraising event held for slain Pakistani taxi driver

NEWYORK: A condolence reference and fund raising were for slain Pakistani taxi driver Naveed Afzal, who was shot dead by armed dacoits in Brooklyn last week.

Pakistani American social and business personality in New York Mohammad Samar organized a condolence reference and a fund raising event for late Pakistani taxi driver Naveed Afzal at Jamia Muhammadiyah Rizvia Masjid.

A recitation of the Holy Quran and Surah Fatiha was offered  at the Jamia Muhammadiyah Rizvia Masjid in Brooklyn for a Pakistani taxi driver Naveed Afzal who was killed last week.

Addressing the participants in the prayer ceremony, preacher highlighted the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PEACE BE UPON HIM) about the rights of orphans in Islam and their support.

Social and business personality of New York Mohammad Samar while talking about the personality of late Naveed Afzal, said that he was a good and peaceful person who came to America to support his family but a few ruthless people deprived him of his life.

Officers of the New York Police Department were also present on this occasion, who expressed regret over the Naveed Afzal incident and said that they were continuing the full investigation of the incident and will be able to arrest the accused as soon as possible.

On this occasion, a fundraising event was also organized to help the family of late Naveed Afzal, in which the participants actively participated.
