Funeral prayer of slain Pakistani cab driver offered in Brooklyn, body sent to Pakistan

NEWYORK: The body of slain Pakistani taxi driver, who was shot dead in Brooklyn few days back, has been sent to Pakistan for burial after performing his funeral prayers.

The funeral prayers of 52-year-old Naveed Afzal were offered at Makki Masjid in Brooklyn, which was attended by a large number of Pakistani Americans.

Pakistani Consul General in New York Amir Ahmad Atuzai also attended the funeral prayers of Pakistani cab driver.

Amir Atuzai said that Naveed Afzal was working hard for the better future of his family and we are all saddened that he was killed in such a brutal way. He said that we were also grieved over the demise of the Naveed Afzal and government will provide every possible assistance to send the body of Naveed to his native city in Pakistan.

Naveed Afzal was shot dead by the armed robbers in Brooklyn on Sunday when he was sitting on driving seat of his vehicle.
