American Council of Minority Women organizes “Chand Raat” event at Coney Island Avenue in Brooklyn

NEW YORK: American Council of Minority Women organized “Chand Raat” event at Coney Island Avenue in Brooklyn.

Hundreds of people participated in the event and appreciated the efforts of ACMW.

Consul General of Pakistan Amir Ahmed Atuzai, Public Advocate Jumanne Williams, Deputy Public Advocate Kashif Hussain, New York Police Department Inspector Adeel Rana, Council of people’s organization (COPO) founder’s Mohammad Rizvi and hundreds of people including American officials participated in the event.

Stalls of garments, jewelery and mehndi were also set up in the event on the occasion of Chand Raat and Eid.

The event was started with recitation of Holy Quran. Later, the American and Pakistani national anthems were played.

A two minutes silence was also observed as an expression of solidarity with the oppressed Palestinians and prayers were also offered for them.

Palestinian songs were also included in the ceremony.

The chairperson of the American Council of Minority Women (ACMW) Bazah Roohi, said that the Palestinian problem has always been in need of a solution, but we have not forgotten our Palestinian brothers in the joy of our Eid and we share their grief equally.

The members also cut the birthday cake of the ACMW. American officials also presented citations to Bazah Roohi and his team in recognition of their services.

Citation was also given to Inspector Adeel Rana for becoming first ever Pakistani-American who promoted as Inspector of New York Police.

American officials congratulated Bazah Roohi and his team for organizing wonderful event and congratulated them on Eid.

Souvenirs were also given to the US officials by ACMW.

Consul General of Pakistan in New York Amir Ahmed Atuzai congratulated Bazah Roohi and his team for organizing the wonderful event and said that it is a unique event of it’s kind where community members and American officials all come together.

The participants purchased garments and jewelry and other items from the stalls on the eve of Chand Raat and Eid.

A children’s fancy dress show was also organized and gifts were also distributed among the children for wearing the best dresses.

Bazah Roohi and his team thanked the participants of the event and the US officials for attending the event. The participants also congratulated ACMW for their efforts
