Candle-lighting, prayer ceremony held to express solidarity with Palestinian at Nassau County, Long Island NY

NEWYORK: A candle-lighting and prayer ceremony was held to express solidarity with Palestinian children at front of the Nassau County headquarters, Long Island New York.

Participants including women and children attended the prayer ceremony despite stormy weather and severe cold. They were holding Palestinian flags and chanting slogans against Israeli aggression on people of Gaza.

Addressing participants, organizer of the prayer ceremony Ali Mirza said that the purpose of the protest is to demand a ceasefire in Gaza during Ramadan.  He said that Biden will lose our votes in November if our demands are not accepted.

Other speakers who participated in the ceremony said that we have gathered to express solidarity with our Palestinian brothers and sisters and most of all children.

They said that it is very unfortunate that on the one hand, the US government expresses regret for the deaths in Gaza, but on the other hand, the same government was also providing arms and financial support to Israel. The participants later ended the ceremony by chanting Free Palestine slogans.
