International Ghalib Seminar ‘Ghalib Raz-e-Hayat-w- Izterab-o-Aagahi’ being held in Delhi, next month

Renowned Pakistani-American poet Raees Warsi to preside over the event, virtually, as Indian High Commission has not yet granted him visa

New Delhi: A three-day international Ghalib seminar titled Ghalib ‘Raz-e-Hayat wa Izterab-o-Aagahi’ is being held from 22nd to 24th December 2023 at Ghalib Auditorium, Aiwan-e-Ghalib, New Delhi.

As per details, the event is likely to be presided over by renowned Pakistani-American poet Raees Warsi, virtually, as the Indian High Commission has not granted him a Visa despite he applied for the same, two months back.

The poetry event is being organized by Ghalib Institute New Delhi with the cooperation of the Federal Ministry of Culture.

On the second day of the seminar, the international Mushaira has been organized, it is a matter of pride for the people of America that this international poetry event will be presided over by the well-known poet Raees Warsi.

In 1987, Raees Warsi passed the MA examination from the Department of Journalism, University of Karachi and settled in America.

His first Ghazal was published in the monthly “Afkar”. After that, he continued to write in many newspapers and magazines.

Daily “Awam” Karachi awarded him literary prize in 2000. His father Sattar Warsi was a great poet of “Naat”. Both elder brothers Saeed Warsi and Rashid Warsi were also poets and journalists.

Apart from this, he has also received many testimonials. Among the other poets of the the event, special guest Amir Mehdi from London, Dr. Taqi Abdi from Canada, Prof. Ibrahim Muhammad from Egypt, Prof. Waseem Brelwi, Azhar Inayati, Popular Meerthi, Dr. Nashiana Ali Muhammad from Mauritius, Dr. Asif Ali from Bangladesh. Dr. Ghulam Rabbani, Prof. Mohammad Shalvi from Iran, Prof. Reza Mohammad Nasri, Jalil Nizami from Qatar, Nawaz Dev Bandi, Mansoor Usmani, Mateen Amrohi, Rashid Jamal, Altaf Tirmizi, Moeen Shadab Shakeel Ahmed, Iqbal Ashar, Dr. Waseem Rashid, Zaki Tariq and Ms. Alaila Khanum will attend the grand Ghalib Mushaira.
