Seminar, walk organized in NYC on breast cancer awareness, prevention

Experts urge women to undergo mammography and other tests on monthly and yearly basis

New York: New Life Minority Human Rights Council, a women’s social organization in New York, organized awareness seminar and walk on breast cancer prevention.

The event that held on Coney Island Avenue in Brooklyn, was aimed at providing awareness on how to be safe from breast cancer.

A large number of women participated in the seminar wearing dresses and scarves similar to the Pink Ribbon awareness campaign.

The event began with the recitation of the holy Quran, followed by Naat-e-Rasool PBUH.

The president of the organization, Rahila Aslam, explained the aims and objectives of the establishment of the organization. She said that Pakistani women do not pay attention to this disease which is often fatal.

The seminar was organized by Dr. Salma Kausar. She said that it is a fact that women face many challenges in life but it does not mean that they should stop worrying about their life and health.

The hall was decorated with pink balloons and placards bearing various awareness messages were also placed.

Other speakers of the organization on this occasion were Waheeda Chaudhary, Saima Atiq also expressed their opinion on the method of prevention of breast cancer, while the woman who succeeded in getting rid of this disease described their experiences.

Dr. Farzana, Dr. Lubna Naeem and Raheela Aslam’s son Dr. Adil Aslam participated in the awareness seminar through video link.

At the end, Waheeda Choudhary prayed for the well-being of women, while the event participants also took part in a walk in the hall.
