Ballroom dancer killed as a car hits her in Long Island: Police

Ilona Kaydanov was a talented dancer and a student of Stony Brook University.

New York: Ballroom dancer Ilona Kaydanov lost her life while her 2 brothers sustained injuries after a car plowed into the pedestrians on Long Island, the police said.

They were hit by a car while running on the side of a Long Island road Thursday morning.

It has been learned that Ilona was a talented dancer and a student of Stony Brook University.

According to the police, the accident took place around 8:20 in the morning when Ilona Kaydanov was walking with her brothers when a car driver hit her and her brothers. As a result, Ilona died on the spot while her two younger brothers, Dennis, 20, and Joseph, 13, were taken to South Shore University Hospital for treatment, where their condition is said to be out of danger.

The news of the sudden death of the young dancer left his friends and teachers quite depressed. Ilona’s dance instructor said, “she was like a daughter to me as she was a talented dancer as well as a wonderful human being.

According to the police, the car driver and the two passengers, a 44-year-old woman and a 64-year-old man remained unhurt in the accident.

Police have impounded the vehicle and started an investigation, but no charges have been announced against the driver yet.
