W2W hosts farewell party to Pakistan’s outgoing CG to NYC Aysha Ali at Shehzori House

Shama Haider, the first Muslim assemblywoman of Pakistani origin said Shehzori Transitional Home for destitute women was much-needed project

New York: Shama Haider, the first Muslim assemblywoman of Pakistani origin elected from District 37 of New Jersey, has said that the Shehzori Transitional Home established by the Women 2 Women Forum (W2W) for the destitute women was a much-needed facility for the South Asian women, and all of us should support this project.

She said this while addressing the farewell party organized by women 2 women forum in honor of the outgoing Consul General of Pakistan to New York Ayesha Ali at Shehzori House.

Shama Haider said that she had seen many consul generals in her life but Aysha Ali showed utmost dedication towards the community, which is a glaring example for others to follow.

A large number of people from different walks of life of the Pakistani American community participated in the event.

On this occasion, Shepa Uddin, a Bangladeshi-born councilwoman elected from Franklin Town, said that South Asian women in any field should use their skills and abilities as they know better how to convince themselves.

Consul General Ayesha Ali, the special guest of the event, presented a summary of her experiences to the audience. Addressing the participants, she said that wherever Pakistanis live in the world, their hearts beat only for Pakistan.

Nusrat Sohail, the host of the event and the chairperson of the Women to Women Forum, explained to the participants the aims and objectives of establishing Shehzori House was to serve all the women of the South Asian community and all of you have to play your active role to make it more successful institution.

On this occasion, the board members of the Women to Women Forum and other women said that they want to bring the destitute women of their community back into the mainstream.

The men of the Pakistani community who participated in the event also appreciated the efforts of the Women to Women Forum. They said that the role of women in the development of any country cannot be ignored.

On this occasion Consul General Ayesha Ali was presented with a shield of appreciation by the Women to Women Forum in recognition of her community services.

At the end, prayers were also offered for the success of Shahzuri House.
