New York: Chairman of the American Pakistani Public Affairs Committee (APPAC) Dr. Ijaz Ahmad, has requested the senior Democrat politician Phil Ramos to submit a resolution in New York State Assembly to launch Student exchange program for Pakistani students. He was speaking at a brunch hosted in honor of Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori at Long Island.
Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori’s is on private visit of United States along with his family. Dr. Ijaz Ahmad said that the Pakistani American community wants Pakistan-US relations to be promoted through student exchange programs, bilateral trade and investment.
The participants asked several questions to the governor of Sindh Kamran Tessori related to economic and political situation of Pakistan, in response he clarified that I am on a private visit, so I cannot discuss these issues openly.
During Conversation Kamran admitted that the country is not close to default but has been defaulted. “I appeal Overseas Pakistani not to donate money, they must invest in their country and this is the right time”, Tessori added.
Kamran Tesori also said that many Pakistanis have become billionaires in 75 years, but the country has remained the same, this is a momentous moment for all of us.
On this occasion, Dr. Ghulam Shahzad drew Phil Ramos attention to the worsening situation of Pakistan and Sindh province in particular. We want the economic situation of Sindh to be stable and the life of the people to improve, he added.
while expressing his views to the audience Phil Ramos, a member of the New York State Assembly said that PAK-USA relationship is strong and stable.
On occasion APPAC members and other participants also expressed their views and offered some suggestions.
