ISLAMABAD: U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) has offered its best possible humanitarian assistance to the New York Police Department’s (NYPD’s) Muslim Officers Society (MOS) team which has been engaged in flood relief activities in Pakistan.
The NYPD-MOS has been in Pakistan for the last week to help the flood victims.
The Muslim Officers Society team met with the representatives assigned to Pakistan by USAID in a private hotel in Islamabad – the federal capital.
MOS President and Deputy Inspector Adeel Rana told the USAID representatives that when he appealed for help to Pakistan’s flood victims, not only Pakistanis, but people from different communities came forward and supported his organization in the noble humanitarian cause.
In this meeting, Adeel informed the USAID that the Turkish Airlines provided full support in delivering relief goods from New York to Pakistan and delivered all the aid to Pakistan free of charge through its cargo service.
The USAID team was very impressed with the initiatives taken by the Muslim Officer Society team and appreciated their efforts.
The USAID representatives also offered to the MOS to let them know of any kind of support they would like to receive in flood relief or rehabilitation activities in Pakistan.
