Suspect killed by police after intentionally setting fire to rental property
Addressing a press conference, the police chief said that at least four people were killed and two others sustained injuries on Sunday after a man set fire to a building and then shot at people fleeing in Houston.
The suspect was later killed by a Houston police officer.
CNN reported quoting the Houston Police Chief Troy Finner that just after 1 a.m., the city’s police and fire departments received calls about a fire and shooting at a house used as a rental facility, Finner said at a news conference.
Multiple agencies, including the Houston Police Department and the Houston Fire Department, responded to multiple reports at a home that was used as a multi-rental property at the 8000 block of Dunlap Street near Bissonnet Street at around 1 a.m, Chief Troy Finner said in a news conference.
Firefighters arrived first but had to take cover when the gunman opened fire, although it was not clear if he was firing at them.

According to Mr Finner, victims were all men, and range in age from 40 to 60.
“This suspect, unfortunately, and very sadly, and very evilly, set fire to several residents,” Mr Finner said during the press conference as quoted by CNN.
Last week, one person was killed and six others sustained injuries in an apparent targeted shooting in the US state of Maryland.
