APAG holds ‘meet and greet’ in honor of U.S congressman candidate from NYC-16 Jamal Bowman

Jamaal Bowman has pledged to raise his voice for the oppressed Palestinians and the Indian-held Kashmiris for their right to self-determination.

New York: The American Pakistani Advocacy Group (APAG) organized a ‘Meet and Greet’ in honor of New York-16 Congressman candidate Jamaal Bowman, who has been vocal for the rights of oppressed Palestinians, and Indian-held Kashmiris,  who have been struggling for their right to self-determination for the last seven decades.

 The magnificent event, held in Queens Villages New York was attended by Pakistani community members in large numbers.

The participants vowed to extend their all-out support for Jamal Bowman to get him elected as US congressman in the forthcoming polls.

The event began with the recitation of a few verses of the Holy Quran, followed by national anthems of the United States and Pakistan.

Speaking at the event, Ali Rashid, President of the American Pakistani Advocacy Group, said: “We are more Americans than Pakistanis because we live here and the future of our children is also connected here, so we should play an active role in US local politics.”

 

Ali Rashid said that the American Pakistani Advocacy Group was formed three years ago. The purpose of our gathering here today is to support Jamal Bowman who is a candidate for Congressman in the upcoming election and we have to support him through the power of the vote. Jamal has always raised his voice for the oppressed Kashmiris.

Addressing the event, Jamal Bowman thanked the people of the community and said that it would be an honor for him to serve in Congress from the New York-16 for Palestine and Kashmiris who are struggling for the right of self-determination.

At the event, APAG Director Amin Ghani and other community members also expressed good wishes for Jamal Bowman.
