Protest is being held in Times Square, Manhattan against the sentencing of Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik by the Indian court. The protestors of all races gathered at Times Square to raise their voices against the court decision.
Protestors carried the Kashmiri flags and banners. The banners carried the words “Free Yasin Malik”, “India Stop Genocide” and “Stop Indian Terrorism”. The protesters also chanted slogans for the release of Yasin Malik and the liberation of the Kashmiri people. 
They demanded from United Nations and human rights organizations around the world to oppose Yasin Malik’s sentencing and to speak out against human rights abuses in Kashmir.
Protestors said that despite the passage of seven decades, the Kashmiris in Indian Occupied Kashmir still are victims of Indian oppression and barbarism. They demand from United Nations to fulfill its promise of self-determination.
They asked not only the Kashmiri community but also the Muslims living in Pakistan and India should raise their voice for the independence and sovereignty of the Kashmiri people.
