On the invitation of the NACA-North American Cricket Authority, renowned batsman and Former Green Shirt captain Younis Khan arrives US and will stay for a few days.
Raja Sajid, a businessman from the Pakistani community, hosted a lavish dinner in honor of Younis Khan in Manhattan area of New York. Consul General Ayesha Ali, former President of West Indies Cricket Board Dave Cameron, APL-American Premier League owner Jay Mir, APAG-American Pakistani Advocacy Group President Ali Rashid, Pakistani journalist Mawiz Siddiqui, Mohammad Farrukh, NACA CEO Abdullah Omar Khan, Social activist Nusrat Sohail, Baza Rohi and prominent community figures attended.
Speaking on the occasion, special guest Younis Khan said that there is always hardship in every athlete’s life. It has always been my endeavor to play for the country and this passion has made me successful.
Consul General Ayesha Ali, Raja Sajid and others also expressed their views on the occasion and said that cricket is more popular in Pakistan than national sport hockey; new talent should be provided maximum opportunity.
Social worker and journalist Mawiz Siddiqui and sports journalist Muhammad Farrukh, attended the dinner and shared important archives of Younis Khan’s career.
Throughout his career Younis Khan never compromised on principles, such players are rare in Pakistan, Mawiz added.
At last, Raja Sajid and the NACA thanked Younis Khan and Dave Cameron and presented them flowers bouquet.
