Pakistani community in New York stay ahead to help the needy but in present time one organization has taken a very unique and different initiative. Council of Peoples organization places a Halal fridge at Coney Island Avenue. Anyone can come here and take whatever they want to eat and drink.
Inauguration ceremony of Halal Fridge with full of edibles at Coney Island of Brooklyn in the traditional way but the facility that has been inaugurated is very unique and different. This facility is for those who in need or passers-by no longer have to wait for food pantries to get food items. Council of People’s Organization has filled the Halal Community Fridge on the street with essential food items for daily use. Now when anyone needs anything to eat and drink, just come here and take this crescent community out of the fridge
After the inauguration ceremony, the head of COPO, Mohammad Rizvi, said that the inauguration day was chosen because 28th Safar is the day of martyrdom of Imam Hassan and according to our historical books, it is also the day of demise of the Holy Prophet. The fridge will stay here all week
US Congressman Bobby Carroll and other US officials were also attended the inauguration ceremony. “We’ve redesigned the food pantry, so people who want to donate food can put it in the fridge,” said Kelsey, Poe’s program director.
US assembly members and other officials praised COPO’s move, and said that Pakistani community has always served humanity in a new way without discrimination.
