Package sent to Trump containing poison intercepted

WASHINGTON

Law enforcement officials reportedly intercepted a package containing poison ricin sent to US President Donald Trump earlier this week.

Citing two officials familiar with the matter, TV Broadcaster said two tests were conducted to confirm the presence of the deadly poison.

“All mail for the White House is sorted and screened at an off site facility before reaching the White House,” it reported.

Secret service and the FBI are said to be investigating the matter.

The deadly poison, ricin, is a “highly toxic compound extracted from castor beans that has been used in terror plots,” according to the report.
