“Scarf Day” at Bronx Community College

Scarf Distributed In more than 150 Muslim and non-Muslim students

New York: The Islamic Circle of North America and the Muslim Student Association celebrated “Scarf Day” at Bronx Community College in New York.

Muslim community women distributed scarf to more than 150 Muslim and non-Muslim students in college. Many students wore scarf as they wished.

The students expressed their happiness and said that wearing a scarf made them feel different and protected. Students also learned about the role of women in Islam and talked openly about Islam.

Speaking on the occasion, newly elected President of the North American African Council, Mosa Darame and a Muslim woman Zainab said, “We want to reduce the distance between different classes through such programs.”

Shabbir Gul of the Volunteer Team of the Islamic Circle of North America and his team Members played an important role in holding Hijab Day.
