Assad Regime Attacks Marketplace in Syria’s Idlib, 5 Turkish Soldiers Wounded in Ras al-Ayn

The Turkish Red Crescent began operating a mobile clinic in northern Syria

Assad regime attacked a marketplace in de-escalation zone in embattled Syrian province of Idlib, according to the Syrian civil defense agency White Helmets on Thursday.

At least seven people were killed and many others wounded during the artillery attack in al-Janudiya town, White Helmets added.

While, in Ras al-Ayn area,  five Turkish soldiers were wounded by PKK/YPG terrorists, Turkish National Defense Ministry said in a statement Thursday.

The soldiers in charge of reconnaissance and surveillance were injured by drone, mortar and light weapon attack in the Operation Peace Spring area, the ministry said.

The Turkish Red Crescent began operating a mobile clinic Thursday in northern Syria following Turkey’s counter-terrorism offensive dubbed ‘Operation Peace Spring’.

In a statement, the organization — known locally as Kizilay — said the clinic was launched in Tal Abyad district, which has been cleared of terrorists.

The clinic also has internal disease, radiology, pediatrics and laboratory units to provide health services to civilians, it said.

It will serve around 500 people daily with 16 specialist physicians, it added.

The only hospital in the region, which was damaged by terrorists, is reportedly under repair.

In 2018, Turkey and Russia agreed to turn Idlib into a de-escalation zone in which acts of aggression are expressly prohibited.

The Syrian regime, however, has consistently broken the terms of the cease-fire, launching frequent attacks inside the de-escalation zone.
